Description
The Peninsular Tokens were struck for use by Wellington s Army in Portugal and Spain. Specimens were brought to Canada by troops that were sent over to fight the Americans 1814.
Obverse: Bust of the Duke of Wellington, facing left, legend HISPANIAM ET LVSITANIAM RESTITVIT WELLINGTON around. The coat button is far from the collar.
