Description
1921 Canada 5-cents PCGS Certified XF-45
When the Royal Canadian Mint decided to shift from silver 5-cent coins to nickel, they melted down nearly all of the 1921 silver 5-cent pieces in circulation to reclaim the metal. As a result, only about 400 are believed to have survived, making specimens extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. Today, the scarcity of the 1921 silver 5-cent coin combined with its historical significance and the intrigue surrounding its near destruction have made it one of the most expensive and desirable coins in Canadian numismatics.
